Festival season continues to dominate the summer with the likes of Lattitude, Longitude, LoveBox, Open’er and British Summer Time Festival thrilling crowds come rain and shine. As always, there’s been an overload of exciting new releases such as Hudson Mohawke’s ‘Chimes‘, Haim ft A$ap Ferg ‘My Song 5’, Duke Dumonts ‘For Club Play Only, pt 3‘ EP Alesso’s massive ‘Tear The Roof Up‘, Jamie T’s comeback single ‘Don’t You Find‘, and the undisputed track of the moment Tiga’s ‘Bugatti‘.

Exciting artist collaborations were cropping up all over the place from Madonna & Diplo, to Calvin Harris & John Newman, Rita Ora and Iggy Azalea, and Kiesza & Diplo. There’s plenty of new music on the horizon, from Jessie Aware announcing her September tour and new album ‘Tough Love’, Foo Fighters and their 8th studio album, comeback gigs from Jamie T, Banks tour in November, Bombay Bicycle club in December and a new Kanye album in September. Coldplay’s ‘Ghost Stories’ became the best selling album of 2014 so far, while Ed Sheeran topped the 1Xtra Power List for the most influential artist in contemporary black and urban music. Last but not least, the MTV VMA nominations were released with Beyonce, Iggy Azalea and Eminem leading the pack.
