Little Daylight – Overdose

Having spent most of 2012 building an online presence with remixes for Temper Trap, Niki and The Dove and Passion Pit, Brooklyn based electro trio ‘Little Daylight‘, have released their first solo material in the form of an infectious track called ‘Overdose‘.

The track featured on BBC Radio 1 on Thursday as Zane Lowe’s Next Hype Record and there’s no surprise as to why. ‘Overdose‘ is immediately catchy with it’s soaring hooks, pulsing bass and quirky synth accompaniment – a real gem of a track that’s certainly made a statement.  Artists such as Chvrches and Sky Ferreira come to mind with its electro-pop perfection,  or as the group refer to themselves as: “Melty electro rock synth pop“.

The trio have just returned from a successful performance at SXSW in Austin Texas and are set to perform at Santos Party House in NY. Having set the bar high with their debut release, no doubt we’ll be hearing plenty more exciting new music from Little Daylight.

AlunaGeorge – Your Drums, Your Love

AlunaGeorge – made up of Aluna Francis (vocals) and George Reid (beats), are a London based duo, who have put their own stamp on electronic music, by infusing it with elements of R&B, bass, garage & pop.  Their unique style has produced a captivating outlook on the electronic music scene of today. ‘You Know You Like It‘, was their debut single released in April, and provided us with a perfect mix of these elements; not to mention a ridicuously catchy pop hook. Following on from the success of this, the duo released their debut EP, consisting of 3 tracks.

Their new single, ‘Your Drums, Your Love‘, had it’s debut as a ‘Special Delivery‘ for Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1. Once again, the track highlights that perfect blend of R&B and electro-pop and showcases the unique vocals from Aluna, and soft synths from George.  The duo recently performed at Annie Mac Presents in Koko’s, where they were extremely well received and kept the crowd captivated and geared up for headliners Madeon and Annie Mac.

Your Drums, Your Love” is out October 7 via Island Records. In the meantime, you can catch AlunaGeorge at Leeds Festival and Bestival.
