Bloc Party – Octopus

Yesterday evening saw the return of  ‘Bloc Party‘. The band debuted the first play of  ‘Octopus‘, which will be their first single from their upcoming album, ‘Four‘.

The track premiered on Radio 1’s Zane Lowe Show, followed by a brief interview with front-man Kele Okereke. Octopus was one of the last tracks the band wrote, and it all came together in a practice room, while experimenting with different sounds and styles, that gradually built into something special.

” We knew we had something so we kept beavering away and, before we knew it, we had it.”

Kele commented that the band are very much looking forward to performing this record, as it’s something they’re very proud of.

Check out the new single below, and see if the return of Bloc Party has been worth the wait, after almost a two-year hiatus.

Octopus is now available from iTunes, and the album is also available to pre-order.
