Everything Everything – Cough Cough

Manchester indie group ‘Everything Everything’ have returned with their long awaited single ‘Cough Cough, set for release October 14th.  Huw Stephens, who was sitting in for Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1, debuted the new track as a World Exclusive.

Speaking to Huw about their new album, Jonathan commented:.

“We’re trying to make it much more more clear and less abstract.  It’s quite objective looking at humans through time and we’re trying to step out of time and look at big picture of where we’re going, where we came from. On a personal level, it’s stuff we’ve experienced in last year, like being right in middle of riots”

‘Cough Cough’ is a strong, snappy and tight record, that clearly demonstrates how they’ve matured as a band, to deliver this fresh, exciting and inventive sound.  With a UK tour starting mid September, the band will play the following dates:

Sept 13th – Coventry Kasbah
Sept 14th – York The Duchess
Sept 16th – Festival No. 6
Oct 21st – Leeds Cockpit
Oct 22nd – Manchester Gorilla
Oct 23rd – London Village Underground
Oct 24th – Nottingham Rescue Rooms
Oct 26th – Glasgow King Tuts

Their new album ‘Arc‘ is set for release January 14th, and will serve as a follow up to the Mercury nominated album ‘Man Alive‘. If  ‘Cough Cough‘ is anything to go by, we’re in for a treat with their new material. Check out the video below, which was directed by the bands very own Jonathan Higgs.
